It's been a big week for two reasons. First, we found out that the twins are boy and girl, which is wonderful for us. Both look healthy and are growing well. I still throw up 5-10 times a week, but the generalized suffering is vastly improved and I'm gaining weight well. I look like I have a beach ball stuffed down the front of my shirt. Hooray!
Second, I got a significant fellowship to Wharton and we've decided to go. It's the third best business school in the world (well, FT has it at #1 while BW has it at #4 this year, but traditionally the long-term brand rankings are Harvard at #1, Stanford at #2, and Wharton at #3).
Turns out that, as I expected, this really is the toughest year on record to get into b-school due to the economy. So I feel pretty fortunate that I not only got in but also got money. We will be moving to Philadelphia within the next seven months, after Aureus gets a job there or July rolls around, whichever is earlier. If I need to deliver the twins in Philly, that's fine.
So it is an extremely merry Christmas here. It's sunny and bright, we have a lovely tree and an awesome fireplace, there are two healthy children on the way, and I'm going to get paid to go to Wharton. We're pretty happy with how things are turning out. |
